Embracing Digital Responsibility at Creating Knowledge 2024: OpenAIRE and the Treasure Hunt

The Creating Knowledge 2024 conference, held from 5-7 June 2024 at the University of Helsinki, focused on "Think Before You Click: Responsibility in the Digital Information Landscape" exploring themes of digital literacy, AI in education, and open education practices.

Fostering Open Science in the AURORA University Alliance Through the OpenAIRE Services Training

The AURORA University Alliance, in its mission to foster a culture of openness and collaboration, is collaborating with OpenAIRE to introduce a series of transformative training sessions. This partnership underscores a mutual commitment to advancing Open Science practices across European universities. The initiative aims not only to enhance the Open Science performance of the university alliances, but also to facilitate research activities for both researchers and research support staff through the use of advanced tools and services.

EGRISE 2.0: A new Gateway Connecting the Geothermal Community

Prior to the launch of EGRISE, the landscape of geothermal research and innovation in Europe was highly fragmented and tedious to navigate. There existed several repositories where geothermal research was shared providing a large variety of products hardly discoverable. While these resources were extremely valuable, there lacked a singular platform where all geothermal actors (e.g., industry, policy makers, academia) could come together and share and discover research.

OpenAIRE and LifeWatch ERIC

The partnership with Lifewatch ERIC focuses on enhancing the FAIRness (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) of research outputs related to biodiversity and ecosystems. Lifewatch ERIC benefits from the integration of its data into the OpenAIRE Graph and the use of OpenAIRE CONNECT and MONITOR services, while OpenAIRE reinforces its support for environmental research and Open Science practices.

Enhancing Biodiversity Access through Collaboration

All publications, datasets, research projects, software and other outputs of LifeWatch ERIC will now be made accessible through an OpenAIRE CONNECT gateway.

OpenAIRE and Inspired-RIs

Inspired-RIs adopts: 1. OpenAIRE CONNECT gateway with an administration panel to configure the criteria for the identification of the research products to be accounted for the infrastructure among those available in the OpenAIRE Research Graph and an end-user web GUI to view the selected research products, whose metadata records will be made openly available via the OpenAIRE API and via Zenodo as a dump in json format.

OpenAIRE and University of Vienna, University Library, AUSSDA

With this collaboration, both parties commit to enhancing the Open Science activities of the two organizations by improving the FAIRness of the University of Vienna, University Library, and AUSSDA research,. OpenAIRE will deliver CONNECT Gateway.

OpenAIRE and European Citizen Science Association (ECSA)

This partnership aims to enhance the visibility and impact of citizen science research outputs by integrating them into the OpenAIRE ecosystem through a dedicated CONNECT Gateway.

OpenAIRE and EDIH ADRIA

The collaboration between OpenAIRE and EDIH Adria focuses on integrating research outputs from the Adriatic region into OpenAIRE’s CONNECT and Monitor services.

Launching the new research portal for The Netherlands

As of July 3, the Dutch research portal NARCIS will be replaced by The Netherlands Research Portal on OpenAIRE CONNECT that covers the publications, datasets and projects of research institutes in The Netherlands. The portal aims to connect the Dutch research to a broad audience of (inter)national researchers, journalists, policy makers and companies.

OpenAIRE and Universiteitsbibliotheken en Nationale Bibliotheek - UKB & SURF

The partnership with SURF and UKB focuses on migrating Dutch research content to OpenAIRE following the deprecation of the NARCIS portal. OpenAIRE provides the CONNECT Gateway and MONITOR services for Dutch research outputs, enhancing their visibility and discoverability.

EnerMaps: A useful online tool for energy professionals

EnerMaps Gateway is a service developed by OpenAIRE-Connect to help the research community access an unlimited number of articles and publications about renewable energy.
